Sydney

Hi,
Another week passed. I've been the whole week in Sydney after one night in Canberra.
Canberra is very weird to me. It's been designed as a new capital city and you feel it. It's empty and kind of dead. It might sound weird but I didn't expect it that extreme neither. The town is actually pretty but something isn't right. So there wasn't much to do.
At least the view from the roof terrace was great. As great as the view from the deck here in Sydney. Simply beautiful!

Of course I've been to the 'must do' places: the Opera house, harbour bridge, darling harbour, the rocks etc. It's not as beautiful as melbourne but I like it here as well.
One day I've been to the blue mountains in the west of sydney. It was beautiful there though a bit too touristic. Additionally the weather changed completely from sunshine to heavy rain. That's why I tried the first time hitchhiking. A man took me back to town so that I could catch the next train to sydney. It was so nice and fun! :)

The rest of the week I often met up with a friend from germany. One evening we enjoyed an awesome dinner at jamie olivers restaurant. Going out for dinner was great and the very first time in my backpacker being.

Today I'll head further north. There I try to convert the photos from my camera so that I can show you a few more in my next post.
