Goodbye to the World from Dubai
The last couple of my days abroad are almost over. My last week in Australia was great. I finally did a lot of shopping and just explored the town. It was hard to leave Australia because the last week started and I honestly didn't like the feeling to come closer to home. Anyway, I had a great week in Dubai and I really liked it what I absolutely didn't expect. I've been on the 124. level of the highest building in the world - the Burj Khalifa. It was an amazing view from there, the town surrounded by nothing but desert. After that Megan (the American woman I stayed with) and I watched the water play outside of the biggest mall of the world (it's incredibly huge, they even have an aquarium inside the mall, just because they can) while having dinner. It was really nice!
The next day I've been to a desert safari. We cruised around in jeeps, watched the sunset behind the sand dunes and got henna tattoos. It was a lot of fun - especially the ride trough the dunes. It was like being in the theme park and I wonder how the cars stick to the ground instead of falling aside.
Another day I did a trip to the capital city Abu Dhabi. It's actually really pretty and the most famous building there, the grand mosque, is just amazing and impressive. But it wasn't so much fun to wear the traditional clothes (the women always wear) in the 40 degrees hot desert...
I really enjoyed my time here and I love Dubai. It's the most international place I've ever been to and the only word Megan and I could find to describe is bizarre. So extreme contrasts everywhere and in any case.
But now I'm saying goodbye to the wonderful world and to the joy of travelling. I know everybody's saying it's an once-in-a-lifetime-experience but I know better. I'll continue travelling and i'll use the next chance I have to do another great trip.
But now let me say: See you soon back home!
And thanks for following my travel online. Almost 5000 calls in 9 months!
