week 24.-30.11.

Hi guys! The following post (and only this one) is in English 'cause somebody asked me doing it. Last week was very exhausting. We had to do the stock take for all the containers on base because of the orditor who's coming next monday and checks every bit and piece we have in our stock. That took a long time because first of all we have a lot of fully packed containers and  secondly we had to be very careful with counting everything (more than twice...) 'cause the orditor is going to write a report which is available for donators as well. After work I spend a lot of time with the family from tanzania and Chadrac.  We went to restaurants or cooked some food together and  they tried to teach me how to play guitar but I think it's hopeless... :D I really enjoyed spending time with them and getting to know them. Friday evening Marina (an employee of JAM international) invited me to her place and we went to a pub to meet some friends of her. That was a great night! ...

Time's already flying

Already three weeks in Rio - it's not a surprise, but still incredible how fast time passes! Due to the German Unity Day, there has been a reception on Tuesday which I was invited to. It was held at the residence of the German Consular in Santa Teresa. As the sun sets very early, so that it's dark at about 6pm, I don't have any good pictures. The residence is like a sweet little castle with a stunning view from the terrace. There were many different people from economics, science, the consular itself, other important people - and us. Yeah, we fitted in there pretty good. Anyways, we enjoyed plenty of brazilian and german food and even more Caipirinhas. It was a very nice evening! As I am pretty busy with work and (very little) thinking about the Bachelor Thesis, there really is not much happening in the week to tell you guys. So, what did I do this weekend? Goodbye Africa!

Frohes neues Jahr euch allen! Ich hoffe ihr seid mit möglichst wenigen Komplikationen ins neue Jahr gekommen und habt keine komischen Vorsätze! :D Meine letzte Woche in Afrika ist nun auch zuende und morgen fliege ich schon nach Thailand. Ein komisches Gefühl, aber ich bin auch schon ganz aufgeregt! :-) Diese Woche war ich im wunderschönen Kapstadt, was eigentlich sogar zu wenig Zeit war. Jeden Tag war das Programm voll mit lauter super Sachen. Die ersten 2 Tage war ich so ein richtiger Touri, was weniger schlimm war als ich gedacht habe. :D Ich bin mit dem hop-on hop-off Bus zu Kirstenbosch, Hout Bay, entlang der Strände im Westen, Green point, Bo kaap und zum Tablemountain gefahren(wo ausgerechnet an dem Tag der cable way natürlich  gesperrt war...:D). Ich hätte  auch einfach so weiterfahren und aus dem Fenster starren können, weil es wirklich so schön hier ist.                              ...
