Segeltour - Whitsundays

Wie ich es im letzten Beitrag bereits erwähnt habe, bin ich nach Airlie Beach gefahren. Von dort aus habe ich eine Segeltour zu einer Inselgruppe, den Whitsundays, gemacht. Wir waren eine Gruppe von 16 Leuten und haben 2 Nächte und 2 Tage auf dem Boot verbracht. Tagsüber sind wir zu unterschiedlichen Spots gefahren und haben eine Menge geschnorchelt. Wir waren aber auch einmal kurz auf dem Festland beim berühmten Whitehaven Beach. Der war super schön (besonders vom Lookout (siehe Fotos)) und es gab selbst im flachen Gewässer Rochen und Haie zu bestaunen. An den Abenden hatten wir einen traumhaften Sternenhimmel über uns, haben viel geschnackt und gespielt und konnten Delfine und Haie beobachten, wie sie um das Boot geschwommen sind und auf der Jagd waren. Morgens wurden wir dann von traumhaften Sonnenaufgängen begrüßt. Die Gruppe war zudem einfach super und wir haben uns alle sehr gut verstanden. Let's Samba

It was the last week for Rebekka, so we enjoyed ourselves a lot this week. We went to the Lab of the Hanggliding Instructor which was very interesting. The Lab is located in the largest (public) University-Clinic in Rio. It's a bit outside of town in the north of Rio. The hospital is very old and that's also what you see. Very old constructions and just not very welcoming. We  met the team he was working with and did some experiments with virtual reality and heart rate observation which was fun and, again, very interesting. In the evening we took a Samba Class. It was so much fun! I am thinking about taking another few! Also, it was incredibly exhausting to try to keep up to the speed of the music and my muscles were quite sore the next day. In the end we also tried it with some parts of the actual Carnival Costums (you see them in the pictures) which didn't work that well. The costums weight a lot, so it is hard to find a good balance... After the class, we went to a bar...

Bye bye New Zealand! Hello Australia!

Let's give it another try in English because of the people I meet on my way who can't understand german. After an exhausting trip back to the north of New Zealand I finally flew to Melbourne in Australia. Here I'm staying with a guy from Couchsurfing and it is as awesome as the last experience with couchsurfing in Auckland. When I arrived I got a plate full of cookies, pralinés and a slice with homemade lemonade, bread and Omelett in the morning. And guess what, everything simply tastes awesome. I really enjoyed my stay here and felt home, because he's a very nice guy and we also talked a lot. Besides Melbourne is a great place to be. Very nice food scene, amazing coffee, beautiful buildings, nice english flair and so many different and individual people. The first 2 days I just walked around the town, organised a few things, enjoyed the atmosphere and met up with a few people I met in New Zealand.
